For 10 days in June, Westwood Village was overtaken by film fest-mania! DWD designed the 2008 L.A. Film Festival site for Film Independent, and received this love letter from Festival Director Rich Raddon, “... It’s the best site we've ever had for the Fest. Easy to use and good looking....” DWD delights in supporting the arts and is pleased to be associated with the L.A. Film Festival.

Legendary event production designer David Merrell and his company AOO Events have produced amazing events for nearly 20 years. DWD recently designed and built a gorgeous website to do them proud. Merrell said, “The new site generates much more interest than before, has given us a higher profile in the events industry and been a major improvement in our marketing efforts.

Dustin’s films SEXY and The Rape of Ganymede screened at Outfest in 2000 and 2001 and Outfest has been high on our radar ever since.
We use conscious design to weave visual stories that inspire, delight and surprise. We promote design with conscience, choosing projects and clients that share our dedication to giving back to the community.
Following are some things we love right now that embrace conscious design:
Drop Everything.
Hundreds of Angelenos will drop everything to raise money for cancers below the waist in next month’s The Underwear Affair. Participants walk or run through the streets of Los Angeles in anything from briefs and boxers to superhero costumes, to benefit The City of Hope. This successful Canadian event premiers in L.A. August 2nd.
See Wall-E.
It’s a visionary tale, a call for change now, set in the year 2700. Robots find love against all odds, while bloated and useless humans float through life in a corporate intergalactic resort, unable to inhabit the poisoned earth. Down on the smoldering, trash-filled planet, the only remaining signs of life are a cockroach and a single green sprout. And yes, it is a G-rated Disney film, smartly done and universal in impact. No wonder conservatives hate it!
Gay Marriage is a Reality.
We cheered the May 29th overturning of a ban on same sex marriage in California. Please join us in congratulating DWD’s Derek Billings and his partner Chris Carter who plan to legally wed later this month. Big hugs to both of them!
