Dustin W Design worked with Reveal Communications to design and develop a website based on a Drupal content management system (CMS), at the request of the client. The National Center on Family Homelessness is a national organization that interacts with/shares data with related organizations that also use Drupal-based CMS. Our goal with this site redesign was to make it less academic but not overly emotional, with a strong sense of social justice. We accomplished that by creating animated children’s drawings from the point of view of homeless children. While they appear at first like ordinary happy kid’s drawings, these animations give visitors reason to pause, with their childlike, naïve approach to a heartbreaking topic.
