Dustin W Design began working with Christopher Street West five years ago to develop a complete re-brand of the Pride festival event and corporate website. We developed a new look and updated the logo, with the theme “How Do YOU Wear Your Pride.” It included original illustrations to be used in various media. We developed the website as a key destination for event information and community access. In the second year we created a strategic three-year theme “Our Agenda: Love, Equality, Pride.” Along with this were two original video pieces – a commercial and a short film on the history of gay rights. Both got a lot of traction with viral distribution.
Over the years we have further developed and added onto the original theme. We’ve created a number of animated commercials distributed on the internet and broadcast on local cable TV. We worked with the board of Christopher Street West to establish the next three-year arching theme: “Pride 365: Power. Passion. Purpose.,” with the underlying current that pride is a year-round event. This year’s festival was a success and the website traffic was cited as one reason. The website surpassed 4 million visitors in May 2009. In addition to web and animation, we have designed T-shirts, buttons, banner campaigns, print ads, outdoor banners, signage and more.
